Ten murders. A paper crane at every scene.

The Crane Files is a murder mystery deduction game. Investigate ten hand-built 3D crime scenes, question the suspects, and work out exactly what happened: who did it, how, why and when. Nothing is handed to you, and every answer needs evidence.

How it plays

  • Investigate every scene. Rotate and zoom each room and examine every object, body and document.
  • Question the suspects. Everyone has a story, and most of them are hiding something.
  • Collect words from clues and statements: names, times, weapons, motives.
  • Deduce by filling in the blanks. Get close and the game lets you know, but never which blank is wrong.

Ten cases, each with a new twist

A locked study. A kitchen alibi and a two-room timeline. Anonymous passengers on the last train. A holiday party where everyone is lying. A garden to compare before and after. Two crimes with two culprits. A cabin full of motives. A night market with eight suspects. A castle gala with two killers working together. And a final case that ties every file together, and unmasks whoever has been leaving the cranes.

Features

  • 10 handcrafted cases, about 2 to 3 hours of play
  • 135 blanks to fill, every one backed by evidence
  • Optional hints that point you at the next wrong or empty blank without giving the answer
  • A detective's notebook that records everything you find
  • Stylised 3D scenes and an original soundtrack
  • No combat, no timers. Play at your own pace
  • Progress saves automatically

Content note: murder themes throughout. The scenes are stylised, with no blood or gore. The game is in English.
