Lionfish are eating real reefs. In Shipwreck Discovery you get in the water and stop them.
One lionfish on a small patch reef cut native young-fish recruitment by about 79% in five weeks (Albins and Hixon, 2008). Every level here starts with 70 to 100 of them, murky water and a dying reef. You rebuild it one dive at a time.
Spear the invaders
Line up a lionfish and strike with your pole spear. Drop each catch in the ZooKeeper tube. Fill it with 56 and it pays 100 ReefCoin. Spend ReefCoin on a bigger air tank, better fins and a brighter head torch, and on Lionfish Tracker and Trash Tracker upgrades that put markers on what you are hunting.
Burn the algae off
The laser cleaner strips invasive algae from the hull and shows the steel underneath.
Plant coral and come back later
Set coral fragments on the sand. They grow in real time, so the reef you plant today looks different when you return.
Watch the reef come back
Pull the trash and the water clears. Remove lionfish and the corals are safer. As fish return your reef climbs from Barren to Pristine and the next wreck unlocks. (Clip: an edited before-and-after of one wreck.)
Race the SS United States

Climb on the BlackTip scooter and run the Scooter Run race against the clock.
Dive "Her Last Voyage"

Swim the SS United States and learn her story from the narration and the archive photos placed along the dive.
Free the animals

Turtles and other animals get tangled in ghost nets and trash. Follow the guide holograms and cut them free with your dive knife.
Dig, scan, learn
Follow the treasure map and sweep the sand with a metal detector. Point your Creature Scanner at an animal and it joins your Aquapedia, narrated by Dr. Steve Gittings. Dozens of species are waiting, from octopus to goliath grouper and hammerheads.
Swim with your arms
Stroke through the water with your own arm movements, or ride the scooter when the site is too big to swim.
