The Old Iron is wrecked on an unfamiliar planet. It can't be repaired — not unless you dig. All you have is a tractor laser, a conveyor belt, and a planet nobody has opened yet.
Dig through it, turn ore into production lines, repair your ship, and leave.

Down Is the Only Direction

The laser is your only tool, and however deep it drills is however deep you can build. The deeper you go, the harder the rock and the richer the ore.

A Machine That Keeps Getting Bigger

It starts with the first copper you dig out by hand, and ends in a fully automated production line. No upgrade ever makes you stronger. It only makes your line longer. At some point you stop mining and realize you are running a machine with no visible edge.

The Relics You Dig Up Rewrite the Rules

Relics lie buried in the planet, and every one of them costs you something to take. Each one rewrites a single rule — some about depth, some about power, some about logistics, some about defense. It depends on what you dig up this run. Same planet. Different rules every run.

The Threats Are Optional

Something falls out of the sky every so often. You can raise shields, mount turrets, and hold the line through every wave. Or you can switch it off and just dig.

The Goal Is a Ship

Stage by stage, bring the wreck back to something that can light its engines. Then you leave. Or you don't — the planet is still there, and you haven't finished mining it.

Current State

Old Iron is in Early Access and will keep gaining new buildings, recipes, threats and systems. Tell us in the community what you'd like to see.
